Republic of Texas $100 government bond, circa 1840–1843, engraved on quality bond stock featuring a central allegorical figure (often fishing, agriculture, or commerce) flanked by ornamental scenes including river steamboat and scenic vignettes. Denomination panels marked “100,” and an ornate border frame. Signed in manuscript by David G. Burnet or other official Treasury/Republic authorities. The bond retains its interest coupons (though some may be cut-canceled), with moderate toning and fold lines. The paper is sound; corners slightly worn but stable.

This instrument was part of the Republic’s efforts to finance growth, defense, and repay debts to citizens and contractors.

General circulated fold and light soiling; no ink bleed or paper loss of significance. Printed imagery remains bold. Coupons remain attached with cancellation marks. Signature of Burnet is legible and well preserved.
