Broadside, Printed in 1813 Eighth Naval Victory: Lines, Composed on the capture of his Britannic Majesty's Squadron, on Lake Erie, by Commodore Perry.

Woodcut of Perry's ship ("Lawrence?"), British ship in flames in the background. Folio, repaired. Framed, with an engraving of Perry.Printed by Nathaniel Coverly, 1775?-1824.

Only one other example is known which is found in the American Antiquarian Society's copy bound in the Isaiah Thomas collection of broadside ballads, v. II, no. 96, presented to the society in August 1814. The poem consists of nine verses, commencing: "Long has John Bull with ships and end, "And suits the British Henry's Race." Probably one of the first woodcuts executed in America of this important Naval achievement.
