Rare Office of the Bank of the United States check, 7 x 2.25, filled out and signed by Andrew Jackson as president, made payable to "Andrew Jackson" for $50, July 25, 1833. In fine condition, with expected cancellation cuts touching the first name of the signature. The piece is framed with an Andrew Jackson Presidential Medal and an original Charles Hamilton authentication and seal on the verso. The overall frame size is 8.5" x 17".
Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767 – June 8, 1845) was an American lawyer, planter, general, and statesman who served as the seventh president of the United States from 1829 to 1837. Before being elected to the presidency, he gained fame as a general in the U.S. Army and served in both houses of the U.S. Congress.
