This is an amazing collection that took over 40 years to assemble.
The signed pieces almost all came from well-known collectors of the past, in person or reputable dealers. The collection is almost all entertainment starting from the silents, to talkies, stage, to television. The collection has a great variety of entertainment genres, from Classics, Westerns, Horror, Science Fiction, and Television almost 85% is pre-1970s. There is a small sprinkling of other notables in authors or film related. Determined to build a comprehensive and fascinating autograph collection, the collector devoted much of his personal time to cataloging the collection. the autographs are found in over 29 different albums. Each album contains approximately 30-50 pages, the majority have some details of the signer and their accomplishments. Originally this collection was put together with the love and passion of entertainment. The collector had acquired many from rare photos that resided in the Jess L Hoaglin collection which wrote books about the stars of yesteryear and Henry Wilkinson collection, both collections that were put together over many decades. Now the collection is ready for the next collector or dealer. Consisting of approximately 1100-1200 total items, the collection is made up of approximately 75% signed photographs, some of the photos found are from 5”x7 – 11”x14”. You will find original Contracts, FDCs, ALSs, and TLSs, and signatures in various other formats as well.
Collection rates in overall very good to fine condition. A few secretarial and/or printed signatures may be included as there are over a thousand signed items. Due to the enormity of the collection please be advised that extra shipping charges will apply. The sheer overwhelming volume of items precludes a complete list, and interested parties are strongly advised to view the collection in person at our offices, as this collection is sold as is, and no returns will be accepted.
