Letter talks about Mr Stanton keeping his word and that he will do his best with Mr. Palmer to secure his choice... Wheeler is considered one of the most honest and respected politicians of the 19th century. Almost 100 years later, Allan Nevins refers to Wheeler in his introduction to John F.
