A fine grouping of material signed by two of the most celebrated American military leaders of the Spanish-American and Philippine-American War era. Includes a Leonard Wood (1860–1927) autograph card, boldly signed on both sides, measuring 2.25" x 3.75". Wood served as U.S. Army Chief of Staff and Governor General of Cuba, earning distinction for his leadership during and after the Spanish-American War. Accompanied by a Frederick Funston (1865–1917) signed card, 2.75" x 3.75", inscribed “Brig. Genl. U.S.A. / June 18, ’01 / San Fernando, P.I.,” dating to his celebrated Philippine service where he captured Emilio Aguinaldo, effectively ending the war. Also included is a period printed paper portrait of Funston, 8.5" x 9.75", titled Brigadier-General Frederick Funston, Hero of Cuba and Calumpit, with illustrated vignettes of his exploits in both Cuba and the Philippines.
