Prince Philip Typed Letter Signed. A formal typed letter on Buckingham Palace letterhead, dated 1977, commemorating the 50th Convention of Variety. In the message, Prince Philip emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility and moral commitment to the well-being of others, particularly children, noting: “The only way human society can become truly humane and civilised is if all its members feel an active personal concern for the well-being of their fellows…” He praises Variety’s dedication to less fortunate children and extends best wishes for the organization’s milestone convention. Boldly signed “Philip” beneath the typed message. The letter measures 7.5" x 9.5".

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (10 June 1921 – 9 April 2021), was the husband of Queen Elizabeth II. As such, he was the consort of the British monarch from his wife's accession on 6 February 1952 until his death in 2021, making him the longest-serving royal consort in history.
