Bram Stoker (8 November 1847 – 20 April 1912) was an author who during his lifetime was better known as the personal assistant of actor Sir Henry Irving and business manager of the West End's Lyceum Theatre, which Irving owned, he supplemented his income by writing a large number of sensational novels—his most famous being the vampire tale Dracula, published in 1897.

Henry Irving (6 February 1838 – 13 October 1905), was an English stage actor in the Victorian era, known as an actor-manager because he took complete responsibility for season after season at the West End's Lyceum Theatre, establishing himself and his company as representative of English classical theatre. In 1895 he became the first actor to be awarded a knighthood, indicating full acceptance into the higher circles of British society.
