Bill Tilden Letter Signed on Savoy Hotel Letterhead. One page, 7 7/8" x 6 1/8"; With Photograph.
Letter and photograph have been glued onto a mat, presumably for framing. Letter written to "Dear Johnny", presumably Paul C. Smith's nephew John. From the Estate of Paul C. Smith the editor and chief of Collier's Magazine.
Tilden writes, in part:
"I hear I have a namesake in you with your friends at Cannes. I hope you will be here very soon... lots of tennis matches."
The photos is signed "To Johnny Lots of ?
Bill, Wm. J. Tilden"(with a small smiley face).
