TRUMAN, HARRY S., 33rd President of the U.S. DS. Here on his private letterhead dated April 27, 1962 is Truman’s Commendation of Charles Patrick Clark. Clark had served as Associate-Chief Counsel of the so-called Truman Committee – the Senate Committee to Investigate the National Defense Program. Truman’s leadership of that committee helped propel him into selection as Vice-President under FDR. The document concludes: “He did a magnificent job and I am happy to say that as a public servant he has no equal.” On board and pristine.
