George Patton Typed Letter Signed "G. S. Patton Jr." measures 8" x 10.5". concerning Sergeant Kenneth Harter, highly praised by General Patton. A letter of commendation for Harter of New York dated January 11,1919, on letterhead that reads, "Headquarters 304th Brigade (1st Brigade) Tank Corps" and has as its subject line, "Sergeant First Class Kenneth O. Harter." The letter reports on the invaluable service and character of Sergeant Harter, who was being sent home on "account of family reason necessitating his separation from the service." Toned with light stains.
In part: "Sergeant Harter fulfilled the functions of Brigade Sergeant Major from the time of the formation of the Brigade until this date and all the work of organization was carried on through the office conducted by him. .. He carried out his duties under fire during the whole of September.
