40th President of the U.S. ALS 5/2/67 to Miss Bender. This is Reagan’s draft copy and was written when Governor of California. Reagan wrote in longhand many letters that would subsequently be typed. “ I didn’t actually get to reading your letter until I’d left Riverside so had no opportunity to see you as you suggested. It was good of you to provide me with the information. I’ll put it in the hands of those who can put it to good use. Best regards.” Signed “R R." Reagan penned in the corner instructions for his secretary to “Send copies of this & her letter to Spence Wms.” He has also made two corrections to the text. Approximately 8 x 5”.
