It reads “To my good friend Governor Theodore McKeldin with deep appreciation for his dedicated service to his Party and the nation with best wishes from Dick Nixon”. McKeldin, Governor of Maryland, made the principal speech nominating Dwight Eisenhower as the Republican candidate for President in 1951
