ROOSEVELT, FRANKLIN D. DS- a rare menu from December 8th, 1915, signed by the President and dated June 3, 1943. This was an “old” program for a dinner at which FDR spoke as Asst. Secretary of the Navy. Carl Schiller who worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, had written asking if FDR would sign and date it. Included are two letters to Mr. Schiller from Grace Tully, FDR’s private secretary, a copy of Schiller’s letter to Tully, a White House envelope addressed to Schiller, and three pieces relating to registered mailing. Miss Tully relates, “He asked me to tell you that it brought back memories of one of the most pleasant evenings he ever spent in his life.” A unique item signed as wartime President.
