He was a pioneer in the then-burgeoning world of commercial magazine fiction and was one of the first fiction writers to obtain worldwide celebrity and a large fortune from his fiction alone. Bank check, 6.25 x 2.75, filled out and signed by London, payable to Smith Bros for $77.37, stamp-dated March 14,1907. A great example no cancelation holes through signature like most of his checks, nice clean dark signature, fine condition.
