This incredible letter written by Aldrin on his personal stationary has extrodinary content, dated on December 25,1997, it goes into detail on his mission with Armstrong and to th emoon and his thoughts on the mission and the plaque they left on the moon. He then signs it Buzz Aldrin Apollo 11, Lunar command module. The letter takes you on the mission in part.."I would like to share with you some of my personal experiences as one of the first two human beings to set foot on another world. In this letter I will describe some of the extraordinary events I experienced firsthand during mankind’s first landing on the moon In our descent to the lunar surface Neal and I were harnessed into the lunar module in a standing position. At the right moment we ignited the engines to begin the 12 minute power descent. Unexpectedly 6000 feet above the surface a caution light came on indicating a computer overload. We pushed on receiving three or forbore warnings on the way down. At 500 feet we saw that the landing area was strewn with rocks. So Neal and I quickly changed our trajectory and touchdown point. At 50 feet above the ground we descended through the dead man so this zone was critical height where engines failures occur we would've crashed into the surface of the moon."
