Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Massachusetts (1722–1803). Adams emerged as one of the early leaders of the movement against the Stamp Act and other British tax measures of the 1760s. Manuscript DS, one page, 8.5 x 13.5, July 3, 1795. Document confirming Nathaniel Wells of Wells, York County as “a justice of the peace & notary public within and for the County of Suffolk in the said Commonwealth.” Signed in the upper left by Adams as governor, below the affixed paper seal. In fine condition, desirable document
