Two DS, in Italian, one signed “Mussolini,” one page both sides, 9.25 x 13, September 11, 1934. Captain in charge of provisions, on "For negligence and disorder in a business, he incurred a sentence for violation of the stamp laws. Subjected to the judgment of a disciplinary council, he received a mitigated guilty verdict." Given the seriousness of the situation and availing myself of the authority granted by Article 7 of Royal Decree N. 1407 of November 5, 1932 and N. I, Letter c) of provisions thereof, I have not reserved to condone the punishment. In this regard the attached draft of a decree has been drawn up, which I respectfully submit for the August Approval of Your Majesty. Boldly signed at the conclusion by Mussolini. In fine condition Also with another document signed by the minister dated in 1926:Pursuant to a Royal Decree dated October 1, 1925, Infantry Captain in the Regular Army SOCRATE ZANIBONI, It is about a theft of money which was of a detriment of the Military Administration. The Tribunal did not proceed againd him due to lack of evidence but he would still lik eto supend the officer form his duties..... Signed Minister. was placed on leave, with his position suspended, because on July 2, 1925 the Investigating Magistrate of the Civil and Criminal Court of Venice had issued a summons to him, for complicity in crimes of dishonesty and falsehood. The Officer was charged with having participated in, while Company Commander, the theft, through falsehood, of huge sums of money, to the detriment of the Military Administration. This theft was committed by the non-commissioned officer for accounting, on the occasion of the call-up of class 1901. The indictment section at the Venice Court of Appeals referred the documents for the proceeding to the Military Attorney at the Military Tribunal of Bologna "for matters of justice." Said Tribunal, by an ordinance dated May 5, 1926, stated that it would not proceed against ZANIBONI due to insufficiency of evidence of guilt.
