Queen of England (born 1665), the last British monarch in the Stuart dynasty, who reigned from 1702 until her death in 1714. Among the most notable events of her reign was the passage of the Act of Union in 1707, which resulted in the creation of Great Britain from the union of England and Scotland. Manuscript DS, signed at the top of the first page “Anne R,” one page both sides, 8” x 12," "18 day of January, 1702/3" matted to an overall size of 20”x 16." A document addressed to William Blathwayt, an incredible historical figure in not only Great Britain, but also early America. Blathwayt established the War office in the department of the British government which reigned until 1964. Along with the War department, Blathwayt played an important part in the formation of the Thirteen Colonies. Most importantly, Blathwayt helped unite what was known as East and West New Jersey into one colony known to this day as New Jersey.
