RUSH, BENJAMIN. 1746-1813. Founding Father of the U.S., Physician and signer of the Declaration of Independence. Autograph Note Signed, penned on a 6  in. x 2 1/2" in. leaf, no place, dated July 17, 1806.

"Mary Dunbar died the day after I saw her with a fever.

Rush was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and attended the Continental Congress. An uncommon autograph, who later in life became a professor of medical theory and clinical practice at the University of Pennsylvania. Rush had a wide influence on the development of American government and was an early opponent of slavery and capital punishment. Tipped to a larger leaf of heavy stock paper; exhibits slight toning on right and left margins; otherwise, in fine condition
