Jimmy Stewart

An 8.5" x 11" two-page Universal Pictures contract dated October 29, 1952, granting permission to use Jimmy Stewart’s name and an imitation of his voice in an untitled musical short starring Andy and Della Russell. The typed dialogue includes comedic references to Stewart alongside Bing Crosby, Perry Como, and Frank Sinatra, and concludes with Stewart’s consent for the impersonation. Boldly signed at the conclusion in blue ink, “Jimmy Stewart.”

James Stewart (May 20, 1908 – July 2, 1997) was an American actor, military aviator, and poet. Known for his distinctive drawl and everyman screen persona, Stewart's film career spanned 80 films from 1935 to 1991. With the strong morality he portrayed both on and off the screen, he epitomized the "American ideal" in the mid-twentieth century. In 1999, the American Film Institute (AFI) ranked him third on its list of the greatest American male actors.
