Fantastic James A. Garfield signed letter, Washington D. C., dated March 19th, 1869, addressed to Hon. William Stedman (General), referencing a meeting with General Grant and Sherman getting a councilship at Veracruz, taken the letter and papers to the Secretary of State (Hamilton Fish) and he would in turn take it to the President (Ulysses S. Grant) for an appointment, written on two pages, 8" x 5".
Garfield was also a general in the civil war, so it interesting in the letter where he is talking about working with both Sherman and Grant in this letter.With One Of A Kind Collectibles COA.
