Jackie Cochran signed this letter and 8x10 photo for a young 4-H Club member asking about her favorite motto/saying or quotation. Her reply was a rather cryptic "I can never have so little that I haven't had less." Jacqueline Cochran was was a pioneer American aviator, considered to be one of the most gifted racing pilots of her generation. She was also the first woman to break the Sound Barrier which the photo seems to repersent according to letter her letter in sending the photo,(likely the "jet speed record"). among numerous other aviation records. The photo is on cardstock and has 3 holes along top edge due to having been stored in a 3-ring binder, and there's some scotch tape residue at right and left margins. The letter is dated February 4, 1954 and is on her letterhead. The upper left corner of the letter has been cut off. Signatures on both items are nice and dark.
