Partly-printed DS. 4 pages together, the largest measuring 8 ½” x14". New York. August 31, 1881. Morgan approves the payroll in the
amount of $1,280.80 for the month of August, 1881 while serving astreasurer of the American Museum of Natural History. The document
shows how much each employees position and salary. Morgan was active in the museum from its founding in 1869 until his death
serving as treasurer, vice president and chairman of the finance committee. Some of the finest collections in the museum were purchased
and donated by Morgan himself. A nice document displaying Morgan in his association during the developmental years of the
museum which brought great knowledge and artifacts of entire new worlds to the public at a time when exploration of many parts of the
world was just beginning to happen. Today, the museum is one of the finest of its kind in the world.
