Addressed to aviation promoter Henry Woodhouse, discussing arrangements for the July 4th celebration and plans for a flying trophy competition. Curtiss notes the difficulty of assembling Curtiss flying boats for the race due to prior commitments and explains the Aero Club’s role in holding the trophy until it was won in succession twice by the same competitor. He concludes that conditions make it impractical to secure entries for that date.
