ANS. This is apparently a souvenir place card for FOR's Fiftieth Birthday Luncheon January 30, 1932 at Hyde Park, New York. It is on board 8 x 5 " bearing an oval photo of the honoree. This belonged to his long-time partner and friend, Basil O'Connor, whom FOR called "Doc". Typed on is this clever bit of doggerel- "Mr. O'Connor" "Who never fails to find a flaw in any inconvenient law and gives the judge an awful shock by weird constructions - sure its Doc.':'FDR has playfully written "Not a promissory note. Raise what you can on your own face-Your affectionate partner who does all the work. FDR:" A delightful example of FOR's sense of humor.
