Original printed program for Better Buymanship Week, held September 11–18, 1936, organized by the Research Department of Household Finance Corporation to promote “Better Family Financial Health.” The campaign included the Homemakers’ Meeting at the I.M.A. Auditorium and the Better Buymanship School at the Masonic Temple, featuring noted poet and philosopher Edgar A. Guest—popular NBC Blue Network radio personality from “Welcome Valley.”

Guest has boldly signed in ink at upper left, “Sept 10/36, Edgar A. Guest.” The program outlines presentations such as “Silks and Rayons,” “How We Stretch Our Food Dollar,” and “The Husband’s Viewpoint on Money Management,” alongside talks by Bernice Dodge, Home Economist and Editor of Better Buymanship.

Measures 5.5” x 8.5” closed, 8.5” x 11.25” open.

In fine condition. Light uniform toning consistent with age, with minor vertical and horizontal fold lines from original mailing or storage.

Edgar Albert Guest (20 August 1881 – 5 August 1959) was a British-born American poet who became known as the People's Poet. His poems often had an inspirational and optimistic view of everyday life.
