1802 IMPORT CERTIFICATE FOR SHERRY WINE - Marblehead, Massachusetts

(5 ¼ x 95/8") Original printed and manuscript certificate verifying the importation "into this District on the 4 day of May 1802 by C. Asa Hooper of Marblehead in the Sch. Hope, Asa Hooper M. an American Vessel, from Cadiz one Quarter Cask of Sherry Wine numbered and marked as per margin, containing Thirty two Galons (sic)"

For the Port of Marblehead - signed by the Supervisor Charles Storer and by the Inspector Samuel R. Gerry. The back is blank.

The upper left corner contains a fine example of the embossed supervisor's seal with eagle and shield (RM-561).
