Military appointment, signed by Jefferson as President and countersigned by Henry Dearborn as Acting Secretary of the Navy. Jefferson here appoints one Samuel Woodhouse a midshipman in the U.S. Navy. With a paper seal of the United States Navy Department. Jefferson's signature is bold and clear. The paper seal is completely present. Extremely good condition, matted with a portrait of Jefferson in a handsome gilt frame.
