Gagarin, the first man in space in 1961; Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space in 1963; and Vladmir Komarov, the first cosmonaut to die on a space mission in 1967. Seven have signed their names in ink below their images, including Gagarin,Popovich, Nikolayev, Bykovsky, Leonov,and Titov.
