Robert Anderson Autograph Letter Signed, 1869 – The Hero of Fort Sumter Sends His Autograph for a Memorial Album

Autograph letter signed “Robt. Anderson,” Dresden, August 9, 1869. One page, 5” x 7”, entirely in Anderson’s hand. The letter responds to a request for his photograph and autograph for a proposed “Memorial Souvenir of the Military and Naval Officers of our Country,” noting that a photograph is enclosed for use in the publication. Anderson expresses his appreciation for the compliment and for the recognition of the services he rendered to his country.
