Set of three vintage 11 x 14 color photographs documenting President Richard Nixon’s historic June 1974 visit to Egypt — the first official visit by a sitting U.S. president. These striking large-format images capture Nixon with Egyptian President Anwar Sadat during a pivotal turning point in Cold War and Middle Eastern diplomacy.

The first photograph shows Nixon and First Lady Pat Nixon standing with President Sadat and Jehan Sadat before the Great Pyramid at Giza, a powerful and symbolic backdrop underscoring Egypt’s dramatic shift toward the United States following the 1973 Yom Kippur War. The second image presents a candid interior moment, with Sadat gesturing animatedly as Nixon listens attentively, surrounded by aides and security — an engaging behind-the-scenes diplomatic scene rarely seen in formal press imagery. The third and most compelling photograph captures Nixon and Sadat seated together in relaxed conversation, laughing warmly — an authentic portrayal of the personal rapport that helped solidify a new strategic partnership between the two nations.

Oversized at 11 x 14, these examples carry far greater visual impact than the standard 8 x 10 press prints typically encountered from the period. Together, they represent a defining moment in American foreign policy and the early foundations of the U.S.–Egypt alliance that would culminate in the Camp David Accords later in the decade. A historically important and visually impressive trio from a landmark diplomatic visit.

Richard Nixon (January 9, 1913 – April 22, 1994) was the 37th president of the United States, serving from 1969 to 1974. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as a representative and senator from California and was the 36th vice president from 1953 to 1961 under President Dwight D. Eisenhower. His five years in the White House saw a reduction of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, détente with the Soviet Union and China, the first manned Moon landings, and the establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Nixon's second term ended early when he became the only president to resign from office, as a result of the Watergate scandal.
