A Typed internal memorandum from the Buick Motor Company, 2 pages, dated October 1, 1913, and boldly signed by company founder and future automotive titan W. C. Chrysler as Works Manager. Issued from the Flint, Michigan office and titled “Standard Practice No. 10,” the document outlines factory protocol on the “Method of Issuing Shop Orders and Returning or Replacing Defective Material.”

Typed on official Buick Motor Company letterhead with form numbers A-143 and A-142, the memo details procedures for inter-factory coordination, handling of overages and defects, and processing material returns—offering an exceptional glimpse into early 20th-century industrial operations. Both sheets are three-hole punched for binder use and retain an original carbon copy distribution list of department heads. Each sheet measures approximately 8.5" x 11". Condition: Excellent, with minor handling wear and clean type throughout. Chrysler’s signature remains strong and prominent.
