Beautiful matte-finish 6 x 10.75 photographic print of an unidentified Still Life painting by Renoir, signed in the lower border black ink, “Renoir.” Lower border also bears official certification stamps in French signed by the mayor of Cagnes-sur-Mer, to authenticate Renoir’s signature, adding the date of January 10, 1911. Auguste Renoir is framed in a large shadow box frame with a photograph and plaque. Signature has official Cagnes town hall Signature authentication stamp and Marie Cagnes seal January 10, 1911. Frame measures 26" x 30" x 5". On back of the frame is a certificate of authenticity from Kenneth R. Lawrence Galleries dated April 1988.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir ( 25 February 1841 – 3 December 1919) was a French artist who was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. As a celebrator of beauty and especially feminine sensuality, it has been said that "Renoir is the final representative of a tradition which runs directly from Rubens to Watteau."
