Manuscript DS, signed “Nath'l Hawthorne, Surveyor,” on a off-white 6.75 x 3.25 lightly-lined slip removed from a larger document, October 7th, 1848. A receipt for $13.37, mentioning the Collector of Customs and the firm of Kimball & Therry. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, mild soiling, trimmed top edge, and scattered toning.
