Julius Dassin was an American film director. He was a subject of the Hollywood blacklist in the McCarthy era, and subsequently moved to France, where he revived his career. A fine 8x11 signed B&W photo of Dassin signed in the lower margin.
American film director, producer, writer, and actor (1911-2008) who was blacklisted from Hollywood after Edward Dmytryk and fellow filmmaker Frank Tuttle named him to the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1952. A noted neo-noir director, Dassin’s films include The Naked City, Brute Force, Rififi, and Night and the City.
