ALS signed by Albert B. Sabin on The Children's Hospital Research Foundation stationary dated Aug. 11, 1966. Sabin is consoling a writer who claims he only has a short time left to live.
In Full: Dear Mr. Bean, I was very sorry to hear that you feel that you have only a short time more to live. All of us have, but a short time on this earth. I don’t know how old you are, but I hope that prior to your present, unfortunate illness. You have had some share of the joy that should be part of every life. For myself, I have long ago decided to live each day as if it were the last, and at the same time, planned my life, as if I would live forever. Since everyone’s life is a mixture of pain and joy, I have dedicated myself to do all I can to illuminate some of the sources of human misery. Sincerely, Albert B Sabine.
