This is the eighth home run ball hit by that year's Triple-Crown winner of Major League Baseball's National League. This ONB is penned with "Sportsmans Park - May 26th, 37 - Home Run Ball No. 8 Right-Center Stands 410 Ft." with an opposite panel showing "Boston-----4 - Cards------6 - Danny McFayden - Lopez - Warneke --- Owens", signed by Medwick on another panel. Meadwick is quite rare on single-signed balls, but this one. a game-used ball from 1937 the year he won the Triple Crown is the pinnacle of a collection. He was the last player to win the National League.
Joel Medwick (November 24, 1911 – March 21, 1975), nicknamed "Ducky" and "Muscles", was a left fielder with the St. Louis Cardinals during the "Gashouse Gang" era of the 1930s, he also played with the Brooklyn Dodgers (1940–1943, 1946), New York Giants (1943–1945), and Boston Braves (1945). Medwick is the last player to win the National League Triple Crown (1937). A ten-time All-Star, Medwick was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers' Association of America in 1968 with 84.81% of the votes. In 2014, he became a member of the inaugural class of the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame.
