Prominent American explorer, military officer, and politician (1813–1890) who mapped the Oregon Trail, played a prominent part in conquering California during the Mexican War, and ran in 1856 as the first Republican presidential candidate. Bold ink signature, "J. C. Fremont,” on an off-white 3.5 x 2 card. In fine condition. Accompanied by another off-white 3.5 x 2 card from his wife, Jessie Benton Fremont, both inscribed from Washington, November 1886. Tastefully framed and matted autographs of both husband and wife.
