Two Zane Grey signed checks. The first check is from the Los Angeles Trust and Savings Bank, dated July 18th, 1924, for the amount of $750. The other check is from the Pacific Southwest Trust and Savings Bank, dated August 15th, 1927, for the amount of $100. Each check with fine bold writing and a signature by the famous author.

Author, 1875-1939, he earned a degree in dentistry in 1896. He began practice in New York City but was more interested in writing and published his first book in 1904. It was his westerns that brought him fame as one of the most popular authors of the Twentieth Century; packed with action and adventure. His books were a profound influence on subsequent popular treatments of the West in literature and movies and on television. Some of his novels are: Desert Gold, 1913; The Lone Star Ranger, 1915; Wildfire, 1917; The U.P. Trail, 1918; To the Last Man, 1922; The Call of the Canyon, 1924; Wild Horse Mesa, 1928; West of the Pecos, 1937; and W. Union 1939. From 1917 to 1926 he had a top best seller every year and most of his 54 adult novels long remained in print, sales in the US alone passing the 30 million mark in the 1960's.
