Original signed 1949 Screen Actors Guild contract between James Arness and Argosy Pictures Corporation to play Klegg Brother No, 1 in the production titled Wagon Master. This is literally Jim's first acting contract! John Wayne was part owner of Argosy and was instrumental in getting Mr. Arness into the film as well as the iconic television series Gunsmoke. The contract has a bit of wear to it. There are folds, minor tearing at the edges and staples holding on an addendum relating to RKO Radio Pictures, Inc.
