Frederic William Farrar (1831–1903) was a prominent English churchman, author, and scholar who served as Archdeacon of Westminster and later Dean of Canterbury. A celebrated Victorian preacher and writer, Farrar gained wide recognition for his popular religious and historical works, including Life of Christ (1874) and Life and Work of St. Paul (1879). His writings, which combined scholarship with accessible narrative, were widely read in both Britain and America and made him one of the most visible Anglican voices of the late nineteenth century.
