SIGNER DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, financially ruined by land speculation. Manuscript LS "Robt Morris", 7.5x9, May 28 1793 to "William & James Constable New York" regarding draft in favor of Clement Biddle (1740-1814), in part: "I remitted you...and drew on you an amount thereof in favor of Clement Biddle for $12000, which leaves upward of eight hundred dollars in my favor - I have therefore drawn a bill on you...you will please to pay...", choice LS featuring as dark, bold & pristine a Morris signature as appears on marketplace plus significant content directly pertaining to Morris' financial situation as well as outstanding association as Biddle was a Revolutionary War officer and hero who served as U.S. Marshal in Pennsylvania after the war.
