A truly remarkable Lucite display containing an authentic fragment of the Luna 24 spacecraft that landed on the surface of the moon, scooped up some soil, and returned to earth. Few people know that Russia landed Luna 24 on the moon on August 18, 1976. This 2 3/4 x 3 5/8" Lucite display has a genuine piece of the brown fiberglass-type material used in the Luna. The piece itself is about 3/8" x 1/8" in size and is embedded in a gorgeous graphic. In fine condition.
