Franklin Delano Roosevelt Letter on White House Stationary, dated January 23, 1937 to Bishop Maxon. The letter is response form a congratulations letter form the the members of the Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Clergy and Laity of Tennessee. Roosevelt thanks them for their "splendid message of January twenty-first which was when he took over for his second term as president. he goes on to say "It is good to know, as I face the next four years, that I have their prayers and good wishes" Franklin D. Roosevelt (January 30, 1882 – April 12, 1945), often referred to by his initials FDR, was an American politician who served as the 32nd president of the United States from 1933 until his death in 1945.
