Theodore Parker ink signature on 1x4 piece of paper. Parker (August 24, 1810 – May 10, 1860) was an American Transcendentalist and reforming minister of the Unitarian church. A reformer and abolitionist, his words and popular quotations would later inspire speeches by Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Ira D. Sankey Isa(iah. 35:10", 4½x3 piece of paper\. Ira D. Sankey (1840-1908) was a gospel singer and composer known as "the Sweet Singer of Methodism." A Union veteran of the Civil War, he often traveled to revival meetings in the company of famed evangelist Dwight Moody. Sankey published a compilation of his religious hymns, Sacred Songs and Solos, which is still in use. More than seven decades after his death, he was enshrined in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame (1979). In 1880 and 1881, Moody and Sankey traveled to the Pacific Coast for a series of revival meetings, using San Francisco as their base of operations. Lightly soiled. Fine condition. He is referring to the verse form the Bible ..Isaiah 35:10  ["...and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing;..."]

Autograph on 3x5 blue lined paper signed "Yours truly, E. H. Chapin, New Yoirk, Oct.16,1866. Edwin Hubbell Chapin (December 29, 1814 – 1880) was an American preacher and editor of the Christian Leader. He was also a poet, responsible for the poem Burial at Sea, which was the origin of a famous folk song, Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie. paper clip mark oetherwise fine condition.
