A fantastic and rare set of documents related to the tragic death of Carol Lombard. It includes Lombard, Carole [Gable]): Lombard's Original Official Death Certificate (State of Nevada) with attached certification by a notary public, with embossed seal. and an original signed Executor document by Clark Gables her husband at the time of her death.
The Official death certificate states, Cause of death stated as "fracture of skull, shock, fracture of the entire body, third-degree burns all over the entire body, airplane crash, Nevada, mountains. Informant: Clark Gable, Encino, Calif.; burial/cremation, Los Angeles, Calif." Lombard was a few minutes into a flight to promote the sale of war bonds when the plane crashed into mountains during a violent storm. Gable had pleaded with her not to go, but she insisted on taking off for performance as promised.
Gable document is dated July 15, 1942 Clark Gable signed Superior Court, State of California, County of Los Angeles, legal document as Executor of the Carole Lombard Estate. Lombard, Gable's wife and one of the most popular female movie stars in Hollywood, died tragically on January 16th, 1942 in a plane crash while returning home from a World War II bond selling tour. The signed document covers all the expenses from Metropolitan Oil Distributors dated June 25th, 1942. Perfect looking 9-10/10 Clark Gable vintage blue ink autograph. The document itself has some paper loss at the top right corner and staple holes.
Both documents in fine condition. Accompanied with photocopy of Clark Gables, Life insurance claimant application.
