Worden, Apollo 15 Astronaut." The semi-circular acrylic award features a golden shooting star against a black background. In fine condition.
The Planetary Studies Foundation promotes the study of planetary science and astronomy with emphasis on meteorites; and sponsors, encourages, and assists in the physical, astronomical, environmental, and cultural sciences so as to broaden man's knowledge of all phases of the universe.
Al Worden (February 7, 1932 – March 18, 2020) was an American test pilot, engineer and NASA astronaut who was command module pilot for the Apollo 15 lunar mission in 1971. One of 24 people to have flown to the Moon, he orbited it 74 times in the command module (CM) Endeavour.
