Desirable Royal Christmas card from 1960 with an embossed crown on the front, measuring 13.5 x 8.25 open, featuring a black and white photograph of the Queen mother with her three grandchildren: Prince Charles, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward as a baby, plus her pet Corgi. It is signed on the adjacent page in ink, "from, Elizabeth R." under the printed sentiment which reads, ''With Best Wishes For / Christmas And The New Year / 1960.'' In fine condition.
Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon was the wife of King George VI, and the mother of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon. She was Queen consort of the United Kingdom and the Dominions from her husband's accession in 1936 until his death in 1952, after which she was known as Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, to avoid confusion with her daughter. She was the last Empress consort of India.
