This postcard is postmarked from Carnegie, PA and is dated 1950. Signed by Wagner, his "W" is affected by some type of water damage but each of the bottom peaks of the letter are visible. The Message appears to be in his handwriting "Hello Irvin, give your Father the Mayor my Best" The lot includes a newspaper clipping regarding the death of the baseball player who was traded for Wagner.

Honus Wagner (February 24, 1874 – December 6, 1955), was an American baseball shortstop who played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1897 to 1917, mostly with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Wagner was a prototypical five-tool player, known for being a versatile defender who could combine a strong throwing arm with the ability to play almost any defensive position as well as being capable of hitting for average and for power. He is widely regarded as the greatest shortstop of all time. In 1936, the Baseball Hall of Fame inducted Wagner as one of the first five members.

Irvin W. "Major" Hach, one-time big league baseball player, who, in 1897, was traded by Louisville Colonels for Hans Wagner.  Hach started playing ball with Versailles in the Blue Grass League, in 1892. In 1893 he was Lexington, later playing in Ohio and Illinois towns. In 1897 he played with Atlanta, and later to Louisville, then in the National League. From there he went to Paterson, N. J., in trade for Wagner, who started his major league career with the Colonels.
